A Sustainable Beauty Industry!
By Marketing Manager, Kendall for UMass Dartmouth, Michaella Lesieur
You have been hearing a lot about kelp and the nutritional benefits it has for consumers and the sustainability efforts for our oceans; however, the sea vegetable is also a golden goddesses dream. What many people don’t know is that kelp can be made into your everyday beauty products. Music to my ears!
Kelp can be used in products such as lotions, creams, soaps and even face masks. So why not plan your next spa date with some of these kelp based products, that help to create that radiant and nutrient rich skin that will be left soft to the touch and rich with vitamins and minerals?
We looked over to Heritage Seaweed (Heritageseaweed.com), a boutique located in Portland, ME and chose our top five favorite kelp based products that are a must try from this lavish company.
Hallo Sapa- Icelandic Kelp Soap-$7.50
The soap is packed with nutrient rich kelp which leaves skin feeling moisturized. Sea Tangle kelp is the type they use in this product which can be found in the North Atlantic. This is noted to be great for all skin types. The soap is made in Rhode Island and noted as a “crisp, cool, clean Icelandic air with just a hint of earthy sweetness.” It even features coconut oils and other feel good essentials that creates the perfect lather.
These next three products you are going to want to use together. The trio is a perfect combination from beginning to end. If you are looking for a gift for mom, your wife or girlfriend they will love this set for any occasion.
